Welcome
Welcome to the Children's University in Arlington, where, led by President Lynn Kenner, educators and students share a commitment to academic excellence and a passion about education.

CU Kids Business Expo -- The CU Treehouse Amphitheater
Elementary students in fourth, fifth and sixth grades worked all year on "The Tree House Project" at Children's University. Through the school's unique program of "Business Electives," these students have had the real-world experience of designing and building a 300-square foot tree house, nestled among oak trees on the school's campus.

Our students used critical-thinking skills, made decisions, developed creative solutions, organized, prioritized, and more in this special elective class designed to build confidence, self-esteem and teamwork as well as improve skills in reading, math and vocabulary.

Christened "The CU Tree House" by our students, the two-story outdoor classroom includes the enclosed tree house, with nine windows and a crow's nest, plus an amphitheater space below on ground level. Now completed, The CU Tree House is a special place to observe and discover nature, including plants, birds and insects. The space will be made available for quiet creative work, such as writing, drawing and painting. The theater space will be used for students to put on plays and perform music.

Events
Our Children's University's school year is packed with fun-filled events! Yet, we know our students won't want to miss a thing. So to help you plan, our calendar and special events sections list everything from Student Government Inaugurations to our Black Tie and Boots Ball. We've also included a monthly menu, updates on student government and our latest newsletter. Be sure to check this section often for more exciting updates.

Student Government Overview
To help students better understand our system of government, our student body elects their own CU Student Government representatives. Each year, students join the party of their choice and select a senator or representative from each class. Following a whirlwind season of candidate speeches, campaign fundraising buttons, CUTV commercials and Whistle Stop Tours, students vote at our real voting booths.

Special Events
Because young children learn best when we keep things interesting, the CU school year features a variety of original, educating and entertaining activities. Favorite festivities include Fall Festival, Chisolm Trail Round-Up, Polar Express, Winnie-the-Pooh Birthday Party, Chinese New Year, CU Spirit Rally, Children's University Spring Musical, CU Student Government Elections and CU Family Night Out. Please check our monthly newsletter or the CU Calendar for details.
