Academic Foundations
CU Classrooms feature a world habitat
theme to expose students to the art, culture, and history of a specific geographic
region. In this exciting environment, students begin to master the skills learned in Kindergarten such as reading, critical thinking and problem solving.
The integrated program features daily workshops where small groups of children read literature phonetically to build reading comprehension and listening skills. In English, they learn different parts of speech and
explore types of creative writing. Other programs include Reading Counts for individualized reading, theater production to bring great
literature to life and activities such as TV report and manuscript writing to develop writing mechanics. |

Fundamental math skills such as telling time, addition and subtraction are combined with more complex mental computation and estimation. Our science curriculum encourages a hands-on exploration of botanical studies, geology, physics, magnetism, and telecommunications. Lessons in desktop publishing and Microsoft Windows(TM) give children real-world experience with computers. Other enrichment programs include music, social studies and character building. |
